Christmas Season in Europe Lighting up Stockholm Dark Winter Nights
It is a big tradition in Sweden's capital Stockholm. Every year, "Stockholmjul" is an initiative gathering the City administration as well as private partners. They all together decorate and light up 40 streets and squares of the capital, putting a million LED bulbs across town.
Stockholm Christmas lighting started already on November 14 and will shine until January 13. And as n flights in winter seem to never finish, Christmas lighting is up from 2pm to 10pm...
A special lightmap is edited each year which is available at various venues in town but also can be downloaded from that link https://stockholmsjul.se/ljuskarta
Strolling around town, you can see how Swedes reinvent old Swedish Christmas traditions into a contemporary event. And come in contact with lighting sculptures of mooses, cones, deers, spruces, reindeers, angels and even a giant mistletoe. A true magical time...
